Una borsa che è ancora un tributo ad un’arte a cui sono tanto affezionata: l’Opera dei pupi siciliani.

Mio nonno materno era un puparo, appassionato e devoto a questa arte che rappresenta le gesta dei paladini di Francia. L’eredità che ci ha lasciato è l’amore per tutto ciò che ruota attorno ad essa.

Il tessuto della borsa è un morbido cotone stampato in cui sono rappresentate le scene del teatro e dei carretti siciliani.

La forma è originalissima perché si può trasformare a seconda delle occasioni. Infatti la chiusura di metallo arcuata consente di piegare i lembi laterali all’interno conferendole una forma trapezoidale.

Invece normalmente ha la forma di una “Coffa”, tipico cesto di vimini intrecciato che un tempo veniva usato per la raccolta delle arance, ma che oggi è diventato un cult dello stile siciliano.

Uno charm con la doppia testa di moro in ceramica ed una perla di agata verde è rimovibile per essere usato come ciondolo in una collana.

A bag that is still a tribute to an art to which I am so fond: the Work of Sicilian puppets.
My maternal grandfather was a puppeteer, passionate and devoted to this art that represents the deeds of the paladins of France. The legacy he has left us is love for everything that revolves around it.
The fabric of the bag is a soft printed cotton in which the scenes of the Sicilian theater and carts are represented.
The shape is very original because it can be transformed according to the occasion. In fact, the arched metal closure allows you to fold the side flaps inside giving it a trapezoidal shape.
Instead it normally has the shape of a “Coffa”, a typical woven wicker basket that was once used for the collection of oranges, but which today has become a cult of the Sicilian style.
A charm with a double dark brown ceramic and a green agate pearl is removable for use as a pendant in a necklace.
